Prior to AIMS development and implementation the first and most important step is to perform gap analysis. The purpose of gap analysis is to know the actual condition of how much the AIMS components have already been implemented in the company and learning what are the strong points and what are the weakness points, and hence a gap analysis method shall be developed.
As shown, a spider or radar graph is generally used to show the results. From the graph we can quantitatively observe what the weak components are, and how much activities need to be done to fill the gap.
Gap analysis is very critical to build a road map and future detail plan on integrity management in the Company. It should be considered before embarking on a long journey of AIMS development
